Day Five - Falling Into Monotony
Day 5: Falling Into Monotony
I have a feeling that this will be a quick one for you guys. While there wasn't a tremendous amount that happened, we seemed to be in a bit of a pattern today and I think we are all pretty exhausted. Possibly from the monotony more likely from Isla's teeth coming in.
We were both up a bunch last night. Isla was crying a ton. I know Jess was in there for a bit and then I went in - I don't remember if I did 2:15 or 4 something.
Of course, the boys were up right on time. Isla was crying and Duncan attempted to go through our room to go in and get her - I. got him to go back in his room. Then we could hear Neil and Malcolm arguing about who is getting down first to get the remote. So annoying. So I got up with them. Jess' stomach was bothering her. I was trying to get work stuff set up and then the boys started wanting everything.
It. was a stressful morning and after Jess got up and I had had enough of the singing and loudness, I headed up to our room to do work.
At one point I looked out and apparently missed the opening of Great Adventure for the season. They were outside and it was cold but as long as they are out and occupied and happy, it doesn't matter. We took a walk and tried to. get Malcolm to ride his. bike....he's being really stubborn, (also monotonous) he's right there but just. won't trust himself.
We came in and ate - I think they ate some pasta and I. am not. actually sure what Neil and Malcolm ate but I definitely heated up pasta for Duncs. Grabbed some cheese and salami and had that. Did a bunch more work.
Headed out in the afternoon with the boys - we threw the baseball around and played some lacrosse and then another family walk.
Isla napped and Duncan refused. The family walk was a bit slow, Duncan was on a hot wheels and he took forever, but that was good because it helped make bedtime easy. He was snoring in under three minutes. I had to check out for a bit after dinner. I don't know if the lack of sleep finally caught up to me or what. I had taken some Claritin D - and haven't in a while, so I am wondering if that made me super sleepy. Regardless, any kind of anything is bugging me out these days. That and my back is a mess - it's really annoying, especially if I can't get to the chiro. None of this shit used to bother me, ever.
We are in trouble with this one. Her eyes are so light when she's out in the sun, they are really beautiful.
Neil was coughing - so once they went to bed after Rebels, I moved Malcolm back into his and Duncan's room and I hope. he doesn't fall off the top bunk because he forgets where he is.
On a positive note our teachers felt good about the work that they. had done to prepare for all of this. 90% reported positive interactions regarding their use of an online platform and felt comfortable doing what they needed to do, so that was good. It's good to know that when you plan you can make things happen. That's also monotonous for me too. But that's a good thing.
Oh yeah, and don't forget this and stay the fuck away from each other, jees!
